Pre-production & production: Depending on what you need, I can help you develop your ideas, write and arrange songs, and guide you through every step of the recording process. I play multiple instruments, and also have a vast network of local and remote session musicians that can play on your song depending on the genre, budget, and project.
Recording: Whether you're a solo artist or a full band, I offer recording services in a variety of fully-equipped studios in the Portland, OR area. I have strong working relationships at The Rye Room Recording Studio (my “home base”) and Dead Aunt Thelma’s, and have done work in several other studios as well. I will work with you to find a studio that best fits your needs and budget.
Editing: Whether you need to fix a few mistakes in your recording or want to create custom sound effects, I have the skills and software to help. I can help you clean up your audio, remove noise, tune vocals, and make other edits to ensure that your tracks are polished and ready for release. If you need additional support, I am available at an hourly rate for tuning, comping, cross fading, track cleanup, session/file organization and track naming.
Mixing: I'll work with you to balance audio levels, add effects, highlight special moments, and create a cohesive sound that represents your music. During a mix session we may work on corrective EQ, harmonic redistribution, vocal treatment (de-click, plosives, de-essing, compression), panning and use of stereo field, volume and clip gain, compression & limiting, and effects (reverb, delay, distortion, chorus etc.).
Mastering: The final step in the production process, mastering is all about polishing and perfecting your tracks for release. I can recommend a mastering engineer that will best suit your project. Check out my colleague Amy Dragon (at Telegraph Mastering).
